We all have what it takes to do what we need. What it takes is always ourselves. Ingrid Sjöstrand writes (unofficial translation from Swedish):
You began to walk once.
You let go of the things around you
and threw yourself out on the floor
without holding on to anything.
Do it again.
Do it again!
We have all once done what was needed to take us further. But once is not enough. Courage is not a trait but rather an insight that it is now time to do what you are too scared of doing, because the alternative would be worse. So you let go, and begin to walk.
Knowledge about life comes from working with yourself – not from difficulties. If you want to change your life then you already have what you need for that journey: yourself and a wish for change. You are the most important tool in your life.
Please grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change,
Courage to change the things I can,
And wisdom to know the difference.
